Some comments on the map was that it needed more detail and less empty areas. As there is no opportunity to play it the benefit is that there is plenty of time to polish and updating it.
Added more details and interior areas and even added more options to shoot from higher positions. Added an entire new objective area with high fire positions for attackers and defenders.
25 march update for TE-Coldsteel.
No more extra package anymore CD will follow tomorrow
Objective D (Distribution area 4 ) moved closer to E (Strippinghall )
This resulted in noticeable shorter rundistance after respawn.
Closed some areas down.
More cover here and there.
Fixes:
Added back a huge amount of covernodes which for some unknown magically reason disappeared from the previous release. I never touched these covernodes nor removed them on purpose. But they where not there anymore.
Question; do all files in the CookedPCServer.rar need to be on the redirect?
Seems there are far more files for this map than for any of the previous custom maps.... Just asking
I sent this stuff to an TWI dev to test and nowhere he replied I'm some sort of idiot to set it up like this.
The map comes with more files as the other custom maps seems to have less custom content. Dropping all this in one file would be kind of weird.
There are floor parts with own textures, walls with own textures, roofs and specific steel factory meshes with own textures all in separated upk files. Like TWI have there stuff in separated UPK files. If all correct they are easy to use for other people to add them in their own maps.
Now whats more annoying is that the map behaves weird on some servers while it works correct on other servers. It beats me why but this is something I can't solve as where should I start to solve what ?
As it works real great on server a but not on server B. Some people point to the 7th February update. I point nowhere as I don't
have knowledge how to run a server or install a server. All I know is that something isn't right here.
Working on custom maps or content is already a kind of voluntary suffering when one notice the dwindling player base. I haven't played a decent game without bots for a while now.

I hope there are still players left for when some of the TC mods start appearing
I haven't had a chance to try Coldsteel yet but it's one of the community maps I've been looking forward to since you stated you were working on it. A lot of the early maps released have a copy paste feel to them without their own identity. What I like the look of from Coldsteel is that you've done some research and created your own content for it. Can't wait to give it a go
The Workshop Update broke damn near everything for Custom Maps. I am told certain TWI Moderators and Server Admins are blaming the mappers! Which I call BS to.
-=}WoLvErInE{=- Drecks, why don't you combine all the files? thats what i did for my maps. you can add the map, package, int, ini files all in same upload. just make sure you have them in proper directory when you upload them.
Like this:
put the roe file = Path:....\steam\steamapps\common\RedOrchestra2\ROG ame\Published\CookedPC\Maps\subfolder
put the Screenshots file = Path:....\steam\steamapps\common\RedOrchestra2\ROG ame\Published\CookedPC\Maps\subfolder
put the upk file = Path:....\steam\steamapps\common\RedOrchestra2\ROG ame\Published\CookedPC\Packages
put the ini file = Path:....\steam\steamapps\common\RedOrchestra2\ROG ame\Config
put the int file = Path:....\steam\steamapps\common\RedOrchestra2\ROG ame\Localization\INT
I tried but I got the filesize restriction. But I see I added the UPK file in the wrong folder. Its in the same as the map file. So that might be the cause of the error.
I can't believe I uploaded an uncooked version. I checked it several times yesterday. The filesize I uploaded is the same as I got in the publiced folder where all files end when you cook them in the SDK.
The uncooked filesize is 126 MB.
The Solution ?
Now for the solution. How do I solve this ?
Just add all files again in my Steamworkshop ?
Or do a recook. Save the extra package with some changes tho avoid version mismatch. And then upload it to the Steamworkshop.
It's about time I get rid of the "This map crash my game" warning. This map seems to have since day 1.
Spend way to long on this map and the same map have been pissing me off since a certain date.
Thanks

For the time being;
Get the Client (Player) files from the above OP post.
Today.... Thursday Nov 22... I deleted my Client Coldsteel Map files and subscribed to it on the RGNRO2 Steam Workshop. It sent the map files to me quickly and I was right in.
