Solo Won't start

Ok, Here's a new one! Meant to post this couple weeks ago but so frustrated with this game.

So i installed the 1.4 patch. Played the 3 new maps in mp. Finish, click on the solo link in game and go play the new zombie map. The next nite click on the single player icon on my desktop and get the black screen of death (BS of Treyarch)

The only way I can get the single player/solo/co-op version to run is if I start in multiplayer and then switch over to the sp version. Yes, my desktop link is correct. I even try running the sp program directly via the run command and ALWAYS get the BS of Treyarch.

Again, only occurred AFTER the 1.4 patch.
