Note: Since a few days i have problems with the editor/RO/Steam.
Constant crashes and general protection faults makes the map life hard.
My stubbornness seem to have won so i could make this release.

Zhitomirrevenge_beta2 is the winterversion of the Zhitomir 1941 summer map.
This version is situated november 1943. More then two years has passed and the
tide turned. The Red Army started a fierce offensive to hunt the fascist out of Russia.

In this version the Soviets has to attack and hunt the Germans out
of the city of Zhitomir. The map has more destruction and a different capsequence.
Need to add more destruction and cover so work to be done. for next releases.

There are 5 objectives:
The Russians have to cap the first two objectives in order to open up the
third objective. The first two objectives are both recapable.

- Cerkovastreet recapable
- Cerkovi Park recapable

Once these are capped the third objective will open up.

- Komsomol Stronghold No recap

Once The Komsomol stronghold is taken by the Soviets the fight for the
last two objective starts. These have to be controlled both, which might
need some cooperation

- 1917 Monument Park recapable
- Ortskommandantur recapable

known issues :

= Some snow peeps into buildings.
= Still some terrain is visible inside. (have to clean it up)
= Must find some sort of interval in the howling Katushya sound.

changelog

- More cover at the Warehouse area.
- Complete new 2th floor in the warehouse area.
- Removed the warehouse capzone. It's moved to the street.
- New room overlooking the 1917 park from the basement building.
- New destruction added to the former Krasny.
- Changed the Komsomol capzone it's moved more to the Russian side.
- More cover in the 1917 park.

Besides me against the BOTS I didn't test this map at all.
didn't have the desired result. So info about the playabilty is needed in order to get a better beta 3 out of the door soon.

Thanks Drecks

Drecks,

In reading your comments around the boards.... I have to say this to you as a Server Admin, Forum Admin, Player and as a friend.

Just because Gorlitz got all sorts of "action" in the RO forum does not mean your creative efforts and work are unappreciated. Your work and creativity in your maps are excellent. Your attention to details of all kinds is superior to just about everyone's. FPH.. is like someone else we know... (at least that's impression I get) if you do not become a lemming, you will be ignored and/or, they'll try everything and anything to discredit you. (I've been sent some of the PM's about the other guy saying they wonder "what is up with this guy?")

If you read that Gorlitz thread from start to finish you'll see that many of the complaints about errors, holes and sticking points in the map that were pointed out early on are now being repeated again. Because he hasn't fixed them! I stopped trying to help the guy once he began blowing myself and others off with his goofy rationalizations and answers. I told him the Russians could steam roll through the map and he refuses to believe it and his lemmings have jumped in and agreed with him.

As a result, I've not had a word to say to him since. Just like I'll never have another word to say about the other guy's maps either. I am doggone tired of the verbal abuse, personal attacks and BS. As far as I am concerned he too, doesn't exist. So now, I walked away muttering to myself... "Self, why the hell are you knocking yourself out?" Obviously, this is another mapper who could care less and is going to do it his way come hell or high water... regardless of the consequences.

Sound familiar? Sure it does! We have another mapper who is pulling the same crap only worse. He too, will find that his piss poor attitude will cause his work to fall by the wayside. Some people never learn to NOT act like prissy (my crap don't stink) "prima donnas". They're only louder asshats. I ignore them now and retain my sanity!

Now, as a friend and one who in particular, wishes to see you enjoy yourself and continue creating great maps.. and helping new mappers. Please look the other way, don't let the personal antics and politics of any dumbass situation get to you. Many of those in the RO forums have seen the crap dished out to me and others who have tried to help improve maps and concepts only to be either shot down or ridiculed. The average participants at RO have been intimidated by the arrogant, outspoken asshat few.

You hang in there and do your thing. You know, I know and many, many RO players know your work is excellent. You do your mapping as well as any "professional". Your work is and always has been excellent.

:bravo:
