IE8 final was released and hasn't recieved the best of reviews. I installed it and have to agree that it's a slow browser. Back to firefox for me.
Today Microsoft has released the "final" version of Internet Explorer 8, a web browser which feels like it's been available in beta since Internet Explorer 7 shipped in October 2006.
I've been using IE8 since its first beta versions and have upgraded to the final release on both Windows XP and Windows Vista computers. My verdict? It's a glitzy improvement over IE7 in many cases, but it has some major problems that make it virtually impossible to recommend.

Odd, I'm using it and really like it and find that its FASTER than Firefox 3.1 b3.... IE8's security features are superior to FF at this time.
Different strokes.... :)

I cannot use IE8, neither at home or at work, it simply hangs one out of three times on page load .... plus its dead slow for me as well.
I do know of peeps having no issues with it at all, must really depend on plugins/add-ons installed/enabled.
Im sticking with Chrome as it is (imo) the fastest browser to date, speed is what i need, no gimmicky toolbars as most of the others do.

Please,
Check your configuration of IE8 and check for updates...
I use it without any real trubs. Of course, certain sites like callofduty.com require using IE8 in compatibility mode but most well composed and regularly updated sites do not need such.

Mike is right IE8 is faster, but only when it works, you have to way it all up.
We tested IE8 through development to release
IE8 has serious flaws and compatibility issues with other products
IE8 also has issues with some core business end Microsoft products, which I've passed back to ms
Some AV/Spyware software really hates it and baulks at it.
Currently group wide we have put a no go on IE8 until , it and other products run smoothly with it.
IE8 has some lovely features., but those features are really pointless until.
one the current patch thats available to developers is released as a final cut.
two other software makers update there core products so that it does not cause PC's to fall over and suffer other performance related issues

Still on Chrome, fast, no gimmick toolbar and such, great Browser i must say. Plus IE8 still hangs 1 on 3 times for me (even with all 36000 plugins disabled)
