Drecks has outdone himself once again... :wink1:

Zhitomir is a superb map - the gameplay is excellent, the balance is iffy depending upon who is playing, how they're playing and that's the way it SHOULD be.
The weapons loadout is just dandy and the indoor and outdoor battles are exciting and fun.
The map's looks are first rate, the building's interiors are superb.
I scoured the entire map and found only one small anomaly:As a German, you exit the spawn along the left side of the map from the German spawn, you cross into another building and as you approach the second doorway there is a staircase behind the doorway, at the foot of the staircase is a black spot.. it disappears as you get close to it. It does not hamper gameplay at all... but it is there and shouldn't be.

I want to see Drecks be a winner in the RO mapping contest - he deserves it.
Each of his maps has been tons of fun and absolutely well done.
RO-Zhitomir outdoes all his other maps. :bravo: You all simply MUST try this map. You'll enjoy yourself.

Yeah, I agree. DRECKS deserves AT LEAST something in the upcoming contest.
You can add two things not often mentioned, he always has excellent BOT support (they do seem to know what they are doing) and he has some of the best optimized custom maps out there. I can get better frame rates in his maps than in the stock maps. That is a big plus for people with older comps and graphics cards, or for players who sometimes like practice mode.

Agreed... But Drecks deserves much MORE than just "at least something" He deserves to be a WINNER. Drecks takes the time and effort to persue perfection. He darn near achieves such in each of his maps. All of his maps so far for RO;

ZhitomirHave been absolutely SUPERB. His maps have behaved well, played very well, the Bots WORK and all of his maps have that special, unwritten feature called....
"play it again and again and again!"
His maps simply do not get boring.

Thanks for the nice replies. Still it needs some work. But on the other side, people should learn how to play new maps too. To many times they're all heading for the same entrance while buildings have more ways or capzones are spread wider.

Drecks,
Zhitomir has many different ways to go, I understand that and frankly people will too, once they're playing more often.
You've outdone yourself on this map! Its excellent. :wink1:

Ready to test the beta 2 version. I have tried to work on all the mentioned things in this version.
Most important change is that once the Komsomol Apartment is taken the Axis spawn move up
and the Allied spawn move back. This will balance the run time for both teams.
This version is a testversion for beta 2. I want these changes to
be tested before i decide to release a beta 2
It's hard to get a full testrun in a short term that's why i want to try
it this way. You can join this test the entire weekend at the After-Hourz server.
Iff this test weekend shows no problems it will be released or tweaked iff needed.
Changelog:
Extra stair upwards for the Krasnaja Apartment.
Extra entrance and room in the Basement.
Balanced run distance and times for both teams. Benefites the Axis.
Allies have only 1 Deployable MG now.
Axis spawn move on once they cap the Komsomol apartment.
More cover and stuff inside the Warehouse.
More cover at the open field towards the Basement.
Fixt some blinkin stuff.
Changed some wall hights for better resting hights.
Fixt at terrain glitch.
Fixt a spot where one could get sticked (At least i hope)
The map can be tested at the AHZ server. I hope we can give it a decent test.
It ain't a limited release it's a testversion for Beta 2 as we all know balance is only to be found during testing
Thanks

That was the fixt terrain glitch.
Well it needs to be tested for balance. Maybe this is a step in the right
direction.

Drecks;
I downloaded and played your RO-Zhitomir map tonight. I have to hand it to you guy, you have a "WINNER" here in my opinion! Beautiful map in every aspect of the game that I could see. Your creativity and talent really shines thru on this one, no doubt. Keep up the "GREAT" work, you are a true asset to the RO community. I certainly thank you for your patience and hard work. :bravo: OneShot
