From: SchutzeSepp; Voila, its done! The beta1 version of my map PariserPlatz.

Its a combined forces map, I tried as much as possible to keep it historically accurate. It follows the battle of konigsplatz on 1 may 1945, and it is centered around the Brandenburg Gate.

The map looks verry natural and will give intense infantry battles assisted by armor

Contains artillery for allies
2 t-34-85 for allies
1 panther for axis ( respawns 5 times)
CUSTOM skins

It is a rather big download 48mb, due to the custom skin files the map itself is 27 MB

Please give it a try on your servers (my mental health depends on it ;) )

Give Tru3Slaughter a vote of thanks for bringing this map to my attention. Its really a good map. Oh, it has a few warts but they'll be fixed I'm certain. Give it a try, its in our rotation on the Combined Arms Server.

i have now fixed the easy to-fix bugs, here is a list of what is done:

-objectives now have to be taken in a certain order
-soldiers will no longer respawn behind enemy lines
-allies now have t-34/85 and IS2 instead of 2 t-34/76's
-german panther will now only respawn 3 times
-german tankers/ AT soldiers cant pick the stg44 anymore (were too many stg's)
-only 3 aussault soldiers on axis team vs4 before
-4 semi-auto soldiers for allies (instead of 2 before)
-removed flying objects
-re-worked some terrain to hide overlapping meshes that were "flickering"
-reduced the download by 35 mb (deleted the russian texture wich was same as original anyways)
-minefields are marqued on the road with hedgehogs
-minefields will warn soldiers 7 seconds before exploding(vs2 seconds before)

could not fix the stand up dead body-thing, i wil talk to the creator of the skins.

All well and good, the fixes are indeed welcomed and the file size reduction is a relief.

But don't you feel the German Infantry is now severely weakened and are a "TAD" lame and over-powered by the Russian Armor both in respawn quantity and firepower? The outcome of this map appears to be pre-determined. It appears like a sure win for the Ruskies every round.

The one thing that convinced me to place the map in rotation was the German tankers getting a STG44 now that its GONE....... WTF???? I might just stay with the B1 version. The Germans have been weakened far too much. They start off defeated.

Why not give the German marshmallows to fight with?? :)

I fully realize what the outcome of the war was/is... but we must never forget this is a game and balance for BOTH sides must come into play. Else, nobody will play the "short-changed" German side. Then IMHO, the map runs the risk of dying.

Please reconsider the load-outs... Please.

nothing is defenitivly changed, im still open to suggestions.

up to now the germans were verry advantaged, when i played as a russian bolter it seemed that every german had a STG44.
i will give the tankers back their STG's, since the panther wont be unlimited anymore i think the germans will need those extra stg's to keep up against the russians (who now have 2 svt's more)

the IS2 might be less of a danger for the germans because it has no frontal mg and slow reload.(i will limit the IS2 to 5 respawns)

are all these settings satisfying?
adding bot pathing and changing the odessa buildings by new ones iw also on my list of things to do.
but that will take more than a week.

so i think i will release this fixed version ASAP, by tonight


Sounds good to me... perhaps you might consider similar tank respawns for both sides... again, simply a balance issue not a bias issue. You and I both know we see many maps come up in rotation and the majority flock to one side or the other because they know from experience which side the map inadvertantly favors.

I commend you for taking the time to play the map online and getting a first hand look at the gameplay.. that's a good idea. Thank you for listening.
