Has Activision Clamped Down on IW?

WILL ACTIVISION EVER WAKE UP?

Here the Call of Duty 4 enthusiasts are, at the beginning of May, 2008... CoD4 has sold millions of copies and still...... the users on all platforms, consoles & PC, are literally begging for information and support for this fabulously successful product. Activision has grossed BILLIONS and yet they seemingly refuse to allocate the resources to get this popular release, Call of Duty 4 finally, FIXED.

Oh, sure when it was first released for sale the users/consumers were told by "402", (Robert Bowling), spokesperson for Activision, that smaller, more frequent updates to the product would be forthcoming. And indeed they did briefly appear. Initially they were ineffectual "quickies". However, from patch 1.4 forward the results were fairly evident. That translates into TWO patches. 1.4 and 1.5 that directly addressed serious problems in CoD4's programming.

However at the same time, a small number of grievous, heretofore unaddressed, abnormalities and problems glaringly remained to be addressed and fixed. Even though these problems were repeatedly pointed out to Activision and Infinity Ward on their own and many other highly popular Call of Duty Forums they remain BROKEN. All efforts thus far by the users/consumers to get these problems addressed and fixed by Activision appear to have been ignored.

The 1.6 patch is hoped be the whiz bang fixer for;

REDIRECT ERRORS (most annoying)
Custom Map Management (out of control)
Fix the broken fs_basepath to recognize .ff files not just iwd's
Add Browser Filters (clumsy as is)
Overall optimization (Strange discon troubles)
Correct Onboard Sound Troubles
NETCODE Overhaul (wicked lag problems for many)
Random Server Disconnects - Connection Interruptions
Remove Forced Anti-Lag (it doesn't work as designed and has become an exploit)
SLI Utilization Needs to be brought up to date! (works better when set to 1 instead of 2 cards!)
After almost 6 months, its time the GLARING problems were fixed. Forget the cosmetic kiddie box map sales and controversial situations which, like the PC mapping contest are nothing more than time consuming diversions that simply appear to be contrived to draw attention away from the obvious shortcomings of Activision in addressing the SERIOUS BUGS still remaining in Call of Duty4 for all platforms.

Incidentally, bugs and troubles remain for the PC owners, XBOX/XBOX360 owners and PS3 owners. The genuine tragedy is seeing the spokesperson for Activision, Robert 402 Bowling bad-mouthing the PS3. How long does Activision and Bowling expect that Sony will sit still for that immature, unprofessional display of sheer ignorance?

So now the users/consumers are a half year past the release of Call of Duty4 and still, they're literally begging Activision to provide the necessary resources for Infinity Ward to finally fix the last remaining BUGS in Call of Duty 4. WHY?

To add more pain and anger to the misery, the Linux binaries are so broken that certain GSP's (Game Service Providers) have resorted to using EDITED LINUX BINARIES that are yet to be released (waiting for the 1.6 patch) for general consumption. They're doing so to offer some semblance of reliability to those individuals RENTING SERVERS for Activision/Infinity Ward users/consumers to enjoy the multi-player side of Call of Duty 4 in the PC Online Community which is 20,000 Servers strong at this time.

All the users/consumers seemingly ask is WHEN.... in heaven's name is Activision going to WAKE UP and REALIZE there truly is such a phenomenon as consumer backlash.
Why does all this sound so very familiar? The users/consumers went through the same grind with Activision's Call of Duty 2 and after a highly successful and equally effective PC Server Strike, ultimately were promised the deafening silence and lack of product support would be a thing of the past.
If the above list of ten items is not at least addressed, if not fixed... how are the users/consumers to ever trust the words of Activision again? Let alone spend any further money with this apparent forked tongue, double-talking corporation, Activision.

The users/consumers are growing weary of being forced to ALPHA and BETA TEST these products!! Then to further aggravate the insult, while at the same time they're being charged full price for the product, they're arrogantly ignored when they present the lists of BUGS needing to be fixed.

In the end, if the present Call of Duty 4 situation is not corrected and the product remains broken, the consumers will have the last word. Their wallets will ultimately remain closed to Activision in the future.

Activision, Nota Bene;

You can fool some of the people all of the time,
and all of the people some of the time,
but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
