Today, in the RO forums, I read where Berezina had been running and setup.... to have different tanks in it.

Assuming its been edited; That is simply put, outrageous! How can an Admin put that map on his server knowing full well it is a copyrighted work??? Better yet, what a perfect example of how to send a clear message to the Mappers that no matter what they say or do to protect their work there are scumbags out there that will edit any map without permission.

I know how.... the asshats are probably not in the USA and feel they are not bound by Copyright Laws. Little do the fools know that copyright laws are internationally cooperative throughout 95% of the world's civilized countries. There are international organizations that will doggedly pursue and prosecute clowns like this free of charge.

BEREZINA IS COPYRIGHTED!!

Personally, I'd love to know on whose server this **** appeared so I can make sure to blackball this disrespectful dolt.

Am I upset over this?? You bet!!! I want to see more excellent maps from Slyk. If people are going to edit his work and cause ugly hybrid versions, how can we expect Slyk to continue to support such a rogue filled platform?

Unless, of course, if those that did the editing had Slyk's permission or it was a Mut.

THATS A TOTAL SHAME AND A DISGRACE ! why can't these f#%^s learn to make their own instead of *******izing someone else's work i hope they catch the ones involved and pin their balls to the wall

But isn't this in the same category of the official maps that have being modded etc?
did they need/have permissions?

The bottom line is TW has made no objections and their maps are apparently, NOT Copyrighted.

Berezina, and a number of other maps ARE copyrighted and owned by their respective authors. Those authors have made it abundantly clear their maps are NOT to be edited or changed in any way without prior written permission.

As I am the one who mentioned it in the RO Forums, I should note it wasn't the map that was altered to the best of my knowledge; there was no map download. Either it was done with a Mutator or something server side.

I PM'd SLYK with the server's name (of which I am only 95% sure of) to let him do as he wishes about it. Judging by his RO post, he was unaware of it.

OK, frankly, I am unaware of any mutator that solely changes vehicle load outs. That doesn't mean that one does not exist. There was a buggy mutator that swapped sides and changed vehicle load outs at the same time. They might have been using that thing but I doubt it.

Since Slyk was unaware of them having Berezina running with changes not authorized by him its fairly safe to assume he had not given permission for anyone to edit/change or otherwise modify Berezina.

I believe that whomever was running Berezina under such circumstances (edited, if such is the case) should show some respect and courage by coming forward and explaining themselves to Slyk.

OK, we now discover it IS a mutator that's doing these things... (this was posted in the RO Forum Thread)

it was the Iron Crescendo server, and they were testing a tank and weapon loadout MUTATOR!!!! They didn't edit the map in any way. I was there too. (It was loads of fun, btw...)

Now, if we can get a copy of the mutator.. I'd love to test it on our server. Evil HoBo?? Angel??

Yeah I remember the original one on the mod, but don't think it was ported to the Ost game it might still work but would no doubt be buggy may even crash the server, but by the sounds of it the one mentioned above is a hybrid they seem to be still working on.

I'll have a look see what i can dig up on the tw forums i know most other's can be sought there.

This is the most concurrent mut list i could come up with.

The old one was called, Map Value Modifier was ported to Ost but stability i think is still an issue.
