Slyk posted this in the RO forums in the Thread for RO-Führer_Bunker_B2. Once again I find myself agreeing with Slyk and with Drecks on this one.

The RO Community of certain "old time regulars" are in fact a royal pain in the ass. They are all self appointed WW2 eastern front history experts and most are pompous asshats. They've done nothing but ridicule and heap scorn on this map. I find that and their overall behavior horrid.

In fact, their snobbish, aloof behavior is hurting TWI and the Red Orchestra platform. Far too many new players have been driven away by the shabby treatment and snotty attitude of the "clique". I've often said they seem to be trying to drive the situation back to the days of the mod. They might very well succeed if they are allowed to persist.

*Warning: General B!tchy attitude post generalizing the current state of things*

I gotta say, I am seeing Dreck's point about this community more every day. The increasing number of expert critics; experts of all subject matter; the hyper criticisms; and the unending "let's go back to the stone age pre-retail 100 member community" bullsh*t is just getting out of hand.

It is rather frustrating, demoralizing, and sort of makes me just want to hang it up some times. Let people make what they want to make, within reason (concentration camps etc being too much). If you don't like them, don't play them. If they are not 100% accurate, leave it alone, or at least offer constructive input on how to improve it. And most of all, if you want to be totally unappreciative shut up and contribute some content yourself if you are such an expert.

@ Slyk, that's well said. I agree completely. Carrying realism to the zealot extreme will ultimately destroy the RO platform. That garbage is driving potential players away on a daily basis.

@ Drecks, please, pay no attention to the asshats blathering about how you must change Lazur 50's objective layout. The map is fantastic. Its a bunch of fun to play. Do what you wish but please ignore the fools who are clamoring for it to be made to play on a rail. Nothing ruins a map quicker than a funneled, pipeline "do it only this way " gameplay scheme.

Let me make myself perfectly clear.... We need all the volunteer support we can get... in return we can HELP the mappers by finding what needs to be fixed and of course offering constructive criticism.

I've found only one mapper who seemed unable to recognize the difference between constructive criticism and nonsense. But, that's another story.

RO-Führer_Bunker is fun to play... period!!

That's why we boot the game and we offer servers - to play the game and have fun.:wink2:

Played RO Bridge last night on the RGN server with two players and then 4, know what we had a blast! Laughed our arses off, Hell_Hund and myself and then two other players joined in! We were having pistol, bayonet, and nade duels, just screwing around really, but it was FUN!!!!!! That is what it is all about guys, having FUN!!!! Is the map historically correct, probably not, is it based on a real WWII scenario, most likely not, but did we enjoy ourselves playing, you bet! Not saying I do not enjoy historical based maps and scenarios, cause I do, but not at the expense of having fun while playing. Want to keep players playing a map, make it fun (balanced, etc..), want your map to sit empty on servers, make it "intellectual" (notice I did not say challenging, but intellectual), again all just my opinion!

I'm certainly no expert, and I am in awe of mappers/moders/animators/coders ability and I respect them and thank them for all they do for the community, but when I play on-line MP FPS's, I want to have fun, but that is just me. Have not had the opportunity (or time) to check out this new map, but when I do if I enjoy it I'll play it again, if I don't then I will not, just that simple for me!
