We are running Drecks' new map... Wateverovko is in our rotation this weekend. It is nice. Jump in and and give it a go. :wink1:

Wateverovko, while not a super historically accurate map, has great action, superb FPS and plenty of rock 'n' sock-em for all. Its a "hard to beat" Combined Arms Map.

Check out the sensation you get when driving a tank on or over the railroad tracks.

Impressive.

Wateverovko will prove to be another highly successful map from Drecks.

I shoot cows and drink beer for a living.

But anyway keep in mind the map isn't released.
This evening i hope to test a version with transport vehicles
which spawn at the spawn which is used at that moment.
This test will be on a full UK server.


And Mike the map is historical accurate.

- It has Germans
- It has Soviets
- It has weapons used at that time
- It has snow which is quite normal in winter
- The only inaccuracy with real life is the spawn option.....

In that respect it IS indeed historically accurate. Great stuff.... let us know when we can get the next beta.

to the authenticity nuts, i personally dont care. this map has all the right stuff and while you're playing it do your really spend time thinking if its a real battle or not? in my mind this map immerses me into ostfront better than some of the stock maps. its definately another server filler masterpiece from Drecks. Great job Johann (spelling?)

Johann is the German way to spell. I'm Dutch we use one "N" at the
end. It's our version of John by the way.

Johann was that mechanic guy in Das Boot who went underneath the
submachine floor to fix something whill they where stuck at the
bottom of the sea.

Playing as Germans you will defend the Kolchozarea and Raildepotarea.
Once the Kolchoz and the Railarea are lost you will defend the Hilldefenseline with an option to cap the Raildepotarea back.

Once the Hilldefense is lost, you will have to defend Wateverovko east with the option to cap the hill back. The final fight will be for Wateverovko centre and east.

Changelog for Beta2 so far :

- Removed spawnprotection minefields.
- Removed centerhill minefield.
- Added more area names.
- Changed spawns.
- More overal cover.
- Fixed collision problem with some custom static meshes.
- Changed the roles. ( No more satchels )
- Resized the railarea capzone.
- Resized the Wateverovko east capzone.
- Fixt the Wateverovko center objective it got overruled by Axis spawnprotection.
- Build new stuff at Axis 1 st infantry spawn.

We had ten ppl show up... of course it was a business day and people do work for a living.

This version plays very smoothly and the spawns and caps move right along without a hitch.

I enjoyed the map and highly recommend it to any Server Admin.

This coming weekend will feature RGN's FAVORITE MAPS all weekend long... you can bet Wateverovko will be in the rotation.

I would like to see this map with 32 players on it. What a battle it would be. It is still fun with less players, but the objectives don't move back and forth too much.

Panzerfausts are still deadly in this, but it does represent a later year in the war so that is ok...but it is good to see that there are less of them. Now if they could only be limited more or less to the Germans than the Russians (can you change the weapon respawning after the spawns move up? Just wondering) :d

I read somewhere that B3 is gonna have different German Tanks and changes to certain strategies...

A Better Hilldefenseline. The arty radio is now removed back to the house at the junction in Wateverovko East. Axis can use it to attack the hill to cap it back.

On the hill in the trench you will find another radio playing a custom made soundfile. You will here a German askin for support.....

The Axis tankspawnprotection is fixed. Triple checked it for beta 2 but i guess i was to drunk

-- The spawnareas are now removed from the capzones. It needs proove.
-- Longer warning time in the spawnprotection minefields.
-- Less panzerfaust only 1 role for it and longer regenerate time.
-- Removed a Tiger for a Panther.
-- The Hill defense can be reached from the wide field easily

So, when you join the game it shuld send another copy to you... This one looks like it might go Final.

Tonight (Oct 12 Thur) AHz is running an internal beta testing of Wateverovko and StadtAngriff on their server. I imagine it will be passworded and Teamspeak required...

It would be great if we could get lots of people over there to give these maps a good going over.

Personally speaking, I would hate to see great mappers give up on the game because of lack of players in the maps they have created. I have noticed that during the week, traffic on servers in general is down, although weekend traffic is still consistent. Part of it probably has to do with school being in session. Unfortunately, with family comittments and work, etc, I don't get to play as much as I would like either.

Anyway, maybe I will see some of ya' over there tonight :d

Moe, we are doing the same things here. We already have Beta3 of Wateverovko up and running....

Why would the RGN Regulars need to go anywhere?? Wateverovko and StadtAngriff have been steadily up and running on RGN's Server since they've been in beta.

Maybe, if there are too few that show up there, they'd care to join us here........ :d

Because of the time, what I meant was instead of having 5 to 10 players on one server, and 5 to 10 players on another as sometimes happens (not quite a battle more like a skirmish...) or worse, one or both servers unoccupied because there are only a few players looking around trying to find other occupied servers...fill one up. I know there just happened to be that event running tonight testing Beta 3 and StadtAngriff.

I know at times I have found a map that I want to play, but the server is unoccupied. I know I have about an hour of time to play. Too many times I have sat in a server by myself for 20-30 minutes hoping it shows up in someone elses browser so they join. Happens about 80% of the time. Experience has told me to just find another server with a different map that I like. :whaa1:

One Example: I heard you server was running the Beta 3 of Wateverovko. Excellent! But by the time I got home and checked it out, the server was empty and another map was running....ugh. It was late and I had maybe an hour to play, so I ended up playing another map on another occupied server...

Anyway, I am not trying to sneak in and steal players :) If per chance one or two players were wandering around the server browser tonight and the RGN one was empty, it will be there and from what I just read, probably not passworded.

Oh, and keep up the good work by supporting these maps MIKE :d

As I said earlier, Wateverovko and StadtAngriff have been here running for quite some time.. and if there are 5-10 players on one server and the same on another.. why cripple either server??? If however, one server is occupied by 2 or 3 players and the other has 5 or 10 then it stands to good reason that the 2 or 3 players should move to the Server with the 5 or 10 players irrespective of which server it might be.

I sure will and I never once thought you to be a sneak... "heaven forbid":eek:

There are always players wandering around looking for a place to "jump into a good game"... most prefer playing in a server with people they know and whose company they enjoy. That's all I meant.

Our server will definitely NOT be password protected. :wink2:

Welppers.... we played all afternoon and into last night. At one point last night we had 8ppl per side. This map, IMHO, is at its final stage... it plays great.
