Battlefield 3 Releases October 25, Gets a Beta and Battlelog
An open beta will begin on September 11 followed by the full game's release on October 25.

Along with a number of videos and a live demonstration of the gorgeous-looking Battlefield 3, DICE announced the game's new Battlelog functionality during EA's E3 media briefing.
It sounds similar to the social networking aspect of Call of Duty Elite that was recently announced. You can connect and communicate with other players, look up real-time statistics, create platoons, and more. This is "all 100 percent free," which is most certainly a dig at Activision and Infinity Ward for the subscription aspect of Elite (although these features in particular sound similar to what Elite will offer for free.
Gamers will have a chance to try out Battlefield 3's multiplayer ahead of the game's release with an open, multi-platform beta. This will be kicking off on September 11. The full game will be released on October 25.
