http://forums.timegate.com/images/icons/DevPost.png Section 8®: Prejudice™ to Offer Dedicated Servers to Xbox 360™ Players
We're excited to announce dedicated servers are now available for xbox 360 players.

Quote:
TimeGate announces first-ever dedicated server structure for Xbox 360 – available worldwide in 25 locations in 15 countries via official provider, GameServers Inc.

Sugar Land, TX - (April 25, 2011). TimeGate Studios revealed today an exclusive partnership with GameServers.com to provide dedicated server rentals for fans playing Section 8: Prejudice (www.warisprejudice.com (http://www.warisprejudice.com/)) on the Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Section 8: Prejudice, 2011’s most anticipated and robust $15 downloadable shooter, rolled out to Xbox consumers on April 20th.

Dedicated servers traditionally exist solely for the PC platform. PC players embrace dedicated servers because of players’ ability to host high-capacity servers, private sessions, configure game types, and generally customize their play experience and environment. Section 8: Prejudice is the first product on the Xbox 360 platform that allows players to run PC-hosted dedicated servers, allowing console players to enjoy the same high-performance, tailored dedicated server experience that PC platform players have enjoyed for many years.

“We’re excited to provide this feature to the Xbox 360 community,” said Adel Chaveleh, President of TimeGate Studios. “Players who rent dedicated servers from GameServers can customize their server so they can play with their clans and friends how and when they want. It’s all about giving more control to the player. Our partnership with GameServers helps us provide a quality service for Xbox gamers never seen before, and we’re proud to reveal this feature for Section 8: Prejudice in a manner that makes setup and management of a dedicated server a no-brainer.”

Beginning today, players are able to rent Xbox 360 servers that support up to 32 players for the Xbox 360 version of Section 8: Prejudice and fully configure it according to their preferences. Gamers can choose between “Ranked” and “Unranked” servers, customize any available features such as maps, game modes, difficulty levels, and gameplay settings, to name a few. Finally, all of these options are made easy to configure and manage via an automated web-based interface, greatly reducing the traditional barrier to entry of setting up a dedicated server.

To begin setting up a dedicated server for your Xbox 360 version of Section 8: Prejudice, visit www.GameServers.com/Section8Prejudice/ (http://www.gameservers.com/Section8Prejudice/).

Well it was just a matter of time. They had dedi servers for the PS3 for the game UT3. To be honest it worked pretty damn good and the server ran just like any other UT3 dedicated server for the PC.

You still had the ability for custon content, mutators and so on. So have to see how this one for the XBox plays out. Hopefuly it works out as good as the PS3 one did. It will just make things easier in my opinion for both the GSP and client.

The only thing that bothers me is the "exclusivity" of this deal. How about some love for the other GSP's.

Here is the part that gets me. I thought the max players on Xbox was 16.

The future in a nutshell;

The consumers are being stampeded into the great corral of greedy gouge....
Soon, they'll have no place to turn to for relief....
You wanna play?
PAY!

Very very sad.... these greedy goofs will get pulled up.

If this exclusivity continues other GSP's could possibly be squeezed out. Hey devs and pubs how about some love for the other GSP's.
