First beta of RO-VBase_B1a,

DOWNLOAD HERE (http://www.mediafire.com/?2ywtdzh2yhc)

Tested with a fresh steam/RO install on a seperate computer, now it shows up in the maplist.

Hope it does the same on the servers =)

Sorry for the inconvenience folks.

This is a map build around a V1 launch base in the Dutch dunes.

I have set up 5 objectives, first 2 recapturable (a farm and stables to be used as a base of operation) and the next 3 to capture and hold ( the trainyard, Vbase offices and as final objective the V1 launchpad).

Both sides have a few tanks and most infantery roles, of which the sniper, panzer/sachel and MGgunner are limited.

As this is a first beta, much things will be faulty or not working as planned
and i hope to get feedback of those things.

Also, I am not sure if the objectives and spawns are placed in a place and order that profits good gameplay so suggestions are more than welcome.

I hope the performance of the map is ok, i put in a lot of bsp/antiportals and most of the time i get 40 to 60 fps on my pc (intel core2duo 6400/ ati x800xt@1680x1050) but the interior of the vbase itself asks more (looking into that) and results in 30 - 40 fps

If anyone wants to know what the tunnels are for :D, I hope u can use them as easy unseen access to the vbase for tanks or whatever, but if they proof to destroy gameplay i'll remove them. That is also why there is almost no detail putten into them.

I think the level is big enough for 32 players, but not optimised enough for them so time will tell. Well I hope you enjoy it, and if not please tell me why so i can try to alter it in a positive way.

greetings, Tumble.

This is a massive map!! Only a few tanks and plenty of Infantry...

The things to see and do are marvelous. I suspect that for the first few times in the map we all will be busy "looking around" and trying different things.

I do believe the map can do with some optimization.

However, this map is deffo a keeper.

Looks very intriguing! Is it up and running on the RGN servers now Mike? Combined arms right? Any German armor or just AT roles?

Looks like a fun map. Look forward to playing. I've been wanting to see more "real" combined arms maps. There is definitely a need for them and it seems some mappers are starting to fill the need. Wowie Zowie.
